He came to power under the fanfares. He was a lion of the revolution, awakening his people, a famous fighter with racial segregation, the hero of the national liberation war. He fought against the despicable colonialists, a white minority, against strangers who came from Europe to oppress the indigenous population of the country and decompose it with their false values.

Crowds of black New York residents took to the streets to enthusiastically welcome him when he arrived in the United States - to speak at the UN on behalf of the new state. The South Rhodesia, the former British colony, disappeared from the political map of the world, and Zimbabwe appeared.

In 1980, Robert Mugaba won the election and became the first black head of the Zimbabvian government. Then, changing the constitution, he made himself president. Not too trusting the voters changing moods, maintaining attributes of democracy, he created a dictatorship in the country. The state security apparatus has diligently destroyed the opposition for decades, which allowed him to rule the country for 37 years. But why did the military surround his palace in November 2017?

Revolution without revolutionaries

Robert Mugaba, as before Him, Hosni Mubarak in Egypt or Muamar Gaddafi in Libya, realized too late what was happening.

The isolation from the life of subjects and sclerosis prevent the ruler from understanding that the revolution has already begun.

In 1848, Prince Metterni, the Austrian Minister, was so old that he physically did not hear the noise of the crowd who raged near his palace ... When rallies and uprisings began in Zimbabwe, it is not difficult to imagine a repetition of dialogs that went down in the history. Rorbert Mugaba, too, probably asked in surprise, like King Louis XVI in Paris in 1789:

- What is this? Rebellion?

“No, Sire,” followed the answer. - This is a revolution.

How to predict the revolutions that take place without revolutionaries? In February of the 17th, professional Russian revolutionaries were in exile, in exile or were under the supervision of a secret police. Lenin did not at all expect to overthrow the regime when Emperor Nicholas II was already renouncing the throne. “We, the old people, perhaps, will not live to the decisive battles of this coming revolution,” Vladimir Ilyich, who had yearned for distant Switzerland, spoke with undisguised bitterness with undisguised bitterness.

Now this spontaneity is helping to warm up Facebook and Twitter, which accelerate the mobilization of the masses. But the possibilities of technological achievements also do not need to be exaggerated, because in 1848 the revolution spread throughout Europe in just a few weeks, although there was neither a radio nor a phone, not to mention the Internet.

Why do some dictators remain with a position to death, while others fail? Many peoples dream of getting rid of the annoying rulers, but this does not happen often. The despots retain power, so far in a state to bless their surroundings. These are high -ranking military, employees of special services, senior officials, members of the family owner or his clan. Their main task is to mercilessly destroy any opposition. And they are ready to serve when they are well rewarded.

Therefore, successful rulers do not care about the people, but about their team. While the team is confident in their privileges, the regime is impregnable. As soon as doubts arise, they run to the rival.

What rulers are betraying? Inept beginners. The new ones still do not know where to get the money and whose loyalty should be bought first of all ... An even more serious danger lies in wait for the bankrupt, decrepit and weak rulers. If the leader is too old, weak or sick, the environment understands that he can no longer count on the usual privileges: he certainly will not pay them from the grave.

Robert Mugaba cared about his health. He obsessively demonstrated to the subjects in what great form he was. Proudly said:

- I am healthy, like a bull, and I'm not going to leave. And those who lost can go and strangle. Even if they die, no dog wants to sniff their corpses.

For the second time, the president married a woman who was 40 years younger than him. Mugaba was 73 years old when Grace gave birth to a third child to him. And Grace until recently assured that her husband feels great, gets up at four in the morning and does exercises.

But his assistants could not help but notice that the leader’s health worsened. Opening the meeting of the parliament, he read the wrong speech. The guilty was called his assistants. At the congress of the ruling party, he again began to make the wrong speech. They brought him another text.

Robert Mugaba symbolized the renewal of Africa, and turned into a laughing stock.

He came to power, promising freedom and equality. But the regime created by him quickly turned into a corrupt single -party dictatorship. And throughout the country, schoolchildren read poems dedicated to the president in which his heroic confrontation is sung by the hated West.

A year ago, the president with pleasure came to the opening of the monument to himself. The four -meter statue was erected in the capital. I liked the statue. Mugaba called her a wonderful work of art.

Criticism of the regimes is deadly. The ruling elite plants everyone who prevents them from enjoying unlimited power and stealing.

The president’s son, sitting behind the wheel, shot down a man on the street. He died. They did not judge the president’s son. They wrote out a fine.

There is no road

Robert Mugaba led one of the most developed countries on the continent. Rhodesia experienced an economic rise and ahead of many Asian states in terms of living standards - before Mugabe came to power, who plunged the country into a catastrophe.

Why did Southeast Asia become an example of economic success, and Africa remained hungry and a beggar living due to the financial assistance of the West? Africa received more international assistance than any other continent. But here are the most poor countries. Part of the world market, which falls on the share of African states, has doubled since the 70s of the twentieth century.

Why is modern telecommunication systems created in Southeast Asia, and it is impossible to call a neighbor in Africa?

Why are the leaders of the Asian countries fighting for the abolition of trade barriers, and African leaders cut their throats for their neighbors for belonging to another tribe?

Malaysia and Singapore were also colonies, but this did not prevent them from succeeding. What is the use of remembering the colonial past of Africa? .. Not enough resources? There is nothing in Singapore at all.

However, there are simpler explanations of failures. In Asia, they like to tell such an anecdote. The African and Asian once studied together at the University of Patrice Lumumba in Moscow. After many years, the African comes to visit Asian. He is shown a beautiful house, Mercedes and a swimming pool.

- How did you succeed?

Asian leads the African to the window and says:

- See this road?

He sees a beautiful modern road. Asian modestly says:

- Ten percent of the allocations are mine.

A year later, the Asian visits the African. He is proudly demonstrated by a huge estate, a dozen “Mercedes”, an army of servants.

Asian is amazed:

- How did you manage all this?

The African leads the Asian to the window:

- See the road?

Asian answers in amazement:

- There is no road here!

“That's right,” the African says pretty much, “all a hundred percent are mine!”

African politicians, explaining their failures, complain of the inheritance of colonialism, racial segregation and insidiousness of the West. It is still believed that the whites are in their unpaid duty, and they expect that the debt will be repaid. Africans require help. They consider this money as a kind of reparation for the crimes of the past. But they do not want to look into the eyes of reality. All failure and conflicts on the continent are the creation of their own hands.

Zimbabwe was impoverished because the dictator destroyed and plundered everything.

Give everything and disappear!

Having headed the country, Mugaba unfolded the struggle against the heritage of colonialism and Western capitalism. The economy began to fall apart. Against this background, wild irritation caused the prosperity of modernly arranged farms, which owned white. And Mugaba declared white farmers the enemies of the people, called for confiscating the land and economy from them. Three thousand farmers had to give their property and disappear. They assigned historical responsibility for colonialism. Anyone who did not want to give the land and leave the country turned out to be behind bars.

The president simply set the black Africans on the whites, who were beaten and robbed. It was already like black racism. Mugabe adopted a law, according to which 51 percent of the shares of any enterprise of the country should belong to black Zimbabvians. Mugabe promised the nationalized lands of the whites to distribute to the poor peasants. But prosperous farms went to officials.

When the white farmers left their native places, the dark -skinned Africans took the line for humanitarian assistance, which was issued by international organizations. In the country, which until recently was the conqueror of the continent, hunger began. Since then, Zimbabwe is unable to feed yourself.

The national currency has completely depreciated. The figures of hyperinflation went down in history: in 2008, one American dollar cost 35 quadrillions of Zimbabvian dollars. My own currency had to be just abandoned.

In the end, people rebelled, not knowing what they wanted, but understanding exactly who they did not like.

" Very, very black "

In the Soviet years, Robert Mugaba was not loved in our country. The fact is that in the war for the national independence of Southern Rhodesia, Moscow supported the People's Army under the command of Joshua Nkomo, and China helped the African national liberation army of Robert Mugaba. So Mugabe was perceived as a protege of the Chinese revisionists despicable at that time.

Having headed the country, Mugaba hastened to make friends with China. He said beautifully that "the sun rises in the east." And only a year later he established relations with the Soviet Union. But in today's Russia, Robert Mugaba invariably show respect, promise to fight against the “immoral” Western sanctions.

Western countries imposed sanctions against Zimbabwe in response to massive human rights. In response, Mugabe promised that Western politicians would “burn in hell” for interfering in the internal affairs of Zimbabwe.

When the US Secretary of State Kondoliza Rice, whose career is the visible evidence of America overcoming racial prejudices, called Zimbabwe the “outpost tyranium”, Mugaba contemptuously answered:

Contempt to the West does not prevent Mugaba from recovering health abroad. When foreign newspapers wrote about this, his spokeswoman replied:

Wife and crocodile

The president’s wife is known for the all -consuming passion for money and diamonds and the willingness to deal with anyone who announces her. Her extravagance knows no bounds. At a rally of the ruling party, she said:

But instead of the husband’s corpse, she decided to offer herself as president. And the political establishment does not like her. She allowed herself to openly make fun of prominent officials. And she eagerly laughed her own jokes.

For many years, the opposition opposed Robert Mugaba. People went out into the streets, protesting against the plight of the economy. But the point in his 37-year-old rule was put by the generals appointed by him, the political establishment of the country. The last drop is the dismissal of Vice President Emmerson Mnngagva. Mugabe wanted to clear his wife to power. But the president underestimated his vice named crocodile. Mnngagva is an experienced apparatchik, and he has strong ties in the military environment.

Democracy requires dexterity and training. And the dictatorship holds the people in a powerless position. When the power is in the hands of one person, the system is very weak: everything is done by order, and if there is no direct order, then nothing is done. Africans simply did not have the opportunity to prepare to take responsibility for what was happening in the country.

The longer the dictatorial rule lasts, the worse the danger to the country, because it deprives it of internal power. All in the hands of the ruling clans. The political system poisons economic grounds, interfering with the emergence of independent social layers - businessmen and entrepreneurs.

The only long -lived

In Africa there is nothing trivial, nothing ordinary. Africa is the world of extremes. In Africa you can see everything. People eat people in Sierra Leone. In Rwanda they kill each other with wooden spears. In Lesotho, Zair, in the Congo-Brazzavil, their own capitals were burned and plundered. A fragile African culture is easily destroyed, and people are covered by real madness. Africa is agony and ecstasy. Beauty and devilry. Life and death.

According to the African Pessimists, the continent is not able to break out of the vicious circle of corruption, dictatorship, hunger and wars. Afropessimism is equivalent to the recognition that it would be better to remain under the control of the whites.

Robert Mugaba is the only long -liver in the country. The average life expectancy in Zimbabwe is 44 years.

A quarter of the adult population is infected with the human immunodeficiency virus, which leads to AIDS. This is one of the highest rates in the world.

“In our country, it is difficult to find a community or a family that AIDS would not affect,” Mugaba once admitted. Among them is the family of the president himself.
