
On December 1, the Niko art gallery in Moscow will be a solo concert of pianist Yuri Favorin.
The concert program has a Russian premiere for the piano of Nikolai Cherepnin’s piano “Mask of Red Death” (1912), as well as Sonata No. 10 Alexander Skryabin, “Forms in the Air” by Arthur Lurie and Bolshaya Suite Gavriil Popov.
Yuri Favorin (b. 1986) at the age of eight was admitted to the Moscow Central Special Music School named after Gnesins according to the classes of Piano, Clarnet and composition, in 2004 he entered the Moscow Conservatory in the piano class of Mikhail Voskresensky. He also studied in the classes of Karen Khachaturian (composition) and Alexander Rudin (chamber ensemble), in 2009 he graduated with honors from the conservatory, in 2015 - the University of Mozartum in Salzburg (Jacques of Ruvier).
He participated in many international festivals in Russia, Italy, China, France, Japan and other countries. He performed with Pierre Boulez, Marin Olsop, Andrew Grahams, Eri Class, Paul Goodwin, Kazuhiro Koizumi, Boris Berezovsky, Alexander Gindin, Marina Drozdova, Mark Koppe, Gerard Mosse, Francois Salkom, David Laivli. Together with composer Alexei Sysoev and percussionist Dmitry Shchelkin, he created the Error 404 improvisational music ensemble.
Laureate of international competitions named after Queen Elizabeth in Brussels (2010) and named after Olivier Messiana in Paris (2007), winner of the Dieurdy Digifra Foundation (2003).
