By the anniversary of the October Revolution, the International Memorial prepared an exhibition on arrests held from October 25, 1917 to January 4, 1918. The exposition is based on portraits and biographies of fifty people - the first victims of Soviet political repression. About what became the basis for the further development of the repressive system, we invite you to reflect with the curator of the exhibition Boris Beenkin and historians Boris Dolgin, Konstantin Morozov, Anatoly Golubovsky.

Family archives, which formed the basis of the archive of the international memorial, store a special memory of political repressions. These are emotionally and intellectually rich stories about life on both sides of the camp fence. They reached us in letters - the only means of communication with the repressed. “Right of correspondence” is the first study of this phenomenon. How to write letters when there is no paper or a pencil? How to transfer news about yourself if correspondence is prohibited? How did censorship work and how could it go around it?

AST publishing house releases the anniversary twentieth collection of works of the school contest “Man in history. Russia XX century. " Memorial - a board game "74" in Soviet history. Exhibition "dried - believe"
Biological Museum named after K.A. Timiryazev, with the participation of the international memorial, represents the project “dried - believe”, the full version of which will be released in a year, and now everyone can take part in his discussion. Here is a sheet of herbarium not only a document recorded by a specialist an instant picture of the state of nature, but also evidence of historical events. Nearby in the windows you will see an example of a natural community that is not violated by a person, and several examples of natural aliens, voluntarily and involuntarily brought by man.

When we want to get far, far, we get into a car or plane. Plants do not only have legs, but also a head to understand where they want. But do you think nothing depends on them? Not everything is so simple! In the lesson of the Biological Museum, Imemni K.A. Timiryazev can find out where the fruits of plants came from hooks and parachutes. As a nut can cross the ocean. And why the berries are bright.

The interaction of a person with the outside world occurs not only at the global level of states and communities, but also at the level of personality and family. The International Memorial invites you to think together about the importance of local history as part of the workshop of historical research contest “Man in History. Russia is the XX century. " Working with curators-historians, participants highlight the features of their family history, learn to select and analyze additional sources for research, and at the end of the workshop they talk about the history of their family as an ideal plot of research work.

(Children 14+)
The XX century determined the current appearance of cities, communities, states, our ideas about the world and the place of man in it. The international memorial invites to plunge into the recent history of the country through board games of the 1980s and 2010s. These games allow you to connect different generations, tell about the past everyday life in an interactive form.
Games participants are replaced every 30 minutes. Parties are conducted and commented on by historians, culturologists and creators of games. Everyone is invited to the table. It won't be boring.

December 1 17: 00–18: 00 - presentation of the book of camp verses by Yuri Dombrovsky and Boris Sveshnikov's graphics “Poems / Graphics”
Writer Yuri Dombrovsky and artist Boris Sveshnikov are united by kinship of fate - both went through the camps. The SAM & Sam publishing house in the series “Library for the Chosen ones” has published a book connecting the writer's poems and drawings of the artist . “They remained, artists, in conditions, seemingly incompatible with the art, throughout their way of their way, anti -artistic. There were no such verses or such drawings without a camp. ”
The presentation will be attended by the compiler Vadim Perelmuther, Klara Dombrovskaya-Zhoramova (the widow of the writer), publisher Sergey Bychkov.
