Dmitry Aleksandrovich Hvorostovsky was born in 1962 in Krasnoyarsk, graduated from the Krasnoyarsk Pedagogical School named after A.M. Gorky and Vocal Department of the Krasnoyarsk State Institute of Arts in the class of Professor Ekaterina Iofel, singing voice - baritone.

In 1985-1990 he was a soloist of the Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theater, in 1988 he received a Grand Prix at the international competition of singers in Toulouse, in 1989 he won the international competition of opera singers in Cardiff. Since 1994, Dmitry Hvorostovsky lived in London.
