Around 17:00 (19:00 Moscow time), Kerimov was brought to the building of the Palace of Justice in Nice in a police car. The Russian senator is being interrogated by a forensic investigator who is to decide whether Kerimov will be charged.
Along with Kerimov, AFP reported, there were two defenders in court - Nikita Sychev (whose bureau is registered in Cannes) and Kami Haeri, one of France's most influential lawyers.
This year, Aeri was considered as one of the main contenders for the post of President of the Paris Bar, but withdrew his candidacy. A year ago, the French Ministry of Justice commissioned Aeri and three of his colleagues to prepare a report on "The Future of the Lawyer Profession".
