The dismissal of school directors in the Cheremkhovsky district of the Irkutsk region after the elections in September 2017 was recognized as illegal.
The prosecutor's office made an idea to the mayor of the district Valery Sobobykin. The head of the district education department Svetlana Shamanov, who was accused of threats with dismissal in the refusal of agitating "for the necessary candidates", was instructive. The brother of the mayor of Cheremkhovo, deputy Sergei Semenov, whom one of the dismissed Ksenia Antipin accused of attack , had a case of bodily harm.
The prosecutor’s office began checking after the statement of the Ombudsman of the Irkutsk Region Valery Lukin on suspicious dismissal: with the directors of 9 schools of those villages and villages, where elections were held in September, concluded labor contracts for only a month - from September 1 to September 30, 2017.
In October, Radio Liberty wrote that the director of the school in the village of Balukhar Ksenia Antipina received threats of dismissal "in the event of poor election results" for a candidate in the head of the Kamenno-Angara municipality from "United Russia" Alexander Matveev. The director of the Verkhneiret school Leonid Zavzin said that he was threatened to agitate Vera Lokhova for the current head of the Golomets municipality. Despite the victory of both candidates, with Zavzin, Antipina and 7 other school principals did not extend the contract. Local residents are sure that the reason for the dismissal was that the candidates lost specifically in the areas located in schools.
Today, the directors of only two schools - from the villages of Lokhov and Grain - decided to recover at the post through the court.
The Ombudsman added that, according to one of the residents of the district, the head of the department of education Shamanov, who was also a candidate for the post of head of the village of Mikhailovka, the police check in the case of the bribery of voters on the voting day.
