According to the head of the Russian Ministry of Communications Nikolai Nikiforov, in the Russian Federation there is a prospect of applying blockchain technology , which is used in the “production” of cryptocurrencies, and “various digital tokens” - but the bitcoins themselves will never be legalized.
Nevertheless, in October, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government and the Central Bank by the summer to develop a taxation procedure for companies engaged in cryptocurrency mining. Amendments to the legislation on this topic are proposed until July 1.
