"Crimean Spring." For most Russians, this phrase causes pleasant associations: “reunion”, “native harbor”, a rally in Sevastopol with Russian flags. But for the Crimean Tatars, the events of March 2014 became a real tragedy. They did not accept Russia in advance: a country in which 52% of the population approve of Stalin, for the people who survived the deportation of the people, could not be attractive. The events that began to take place on the peninsula after joining Russia only strengthened the Crimean Tatars in this hostility.
Today it is not a week that one of the Crimean Tatar activists would not have been searches. The FSB accuses the representatives of this people of relations with Muslim organizations banned in Russia. They are called terrorists, although they have not committed a single attack. Sometimes they are kidnapped, and then found killed.
The last raid on the Crimean Tatars disloyal to Russia was last Thursday. And led to the tragedy.
Raid
On November 23, 2017, operatives of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Crimea conducted a large -scale joint operation "to detain members of the prohibited extremist Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people." Searches were carried out at once in three settlements: in Feodosia, Simferopol and the village of Grushevka near Sudak.
4 people were detained: 57-year-old Bekir Degermendii (his son Mustafu has been judged for two years for participation in the riots of the Verkhovna Rada of Crimea on February 26, 2014 ”), 64-year-old Asan Chapukh, ex-chairman of the Medzhlis village of Grushevka Kazim Ametov, as well as the Crimean Tatar Ruslan Trubach. They were accused of extorting $ 7000 from a citizen of Turkey Yusuf Aitan.
There should have been more defendants. The operatives also wanted to detain the 82-year-old Veda Kashka, the veteran of the Crimean Tatar National Movement, but the grandmother, who was “taken” with Bekir Deggermanji and Asan Chapukh in the Simferopol Cafe, became bad. She had to call an ambulance, and she died without reaching the hospital.

The leaders of the Crimean Tatars of the charges against the detainees rejected. “All the detentions taking place today are related to the household situation. The Vedzhe Kashka, an elderly and sick woman, waded into confidence in a Turkish citizen named Yusuf Aitan. He lent her money. And then he refused to give. All the detainees turned to Aitan with requests to return the money of the Vedzhe Kashka, as this is a very respected woman. However, there was no extortion, threats and other things, ”the Crimean Tatar activist Nariman Jelal told Novaya Gazeta. Ayan himself later said that there really was the money, but it was not he who spent it, but the granddaughter of the Vedzhe Kashka Aliya, with whom they cohabited.
Already during the searches on the detainees, the Crimean media began to pour slide. Without waiting for the court, the journalists called them extortionists, extremists and terrorists. But the worst of the Vedzhe Kashka, who was called the "Extractant Extraordinant", got the worst of all. The Crimean Tatars responded with cohesion to the grass.
"Mother Teresa of our people"
An hour and a half before the mourning ceremony at the gates of the House of Vedga Kashka in the village of Novoklenovka, Belogorsky district, fifty people gather. On many houses, Crimean Tatar flags are hung with mourning ribbons tied to flags.
“I only called her a week ago,” recalls one of those standing at the house. - I call all day, but she does not pick up the phone. In the evening, finally, she got through, and she said: "I sat down the garlic all day." She did not think to die. It was incredibly active in my 82: I went to our guys around the courts ( dozens of Crimean Tatars were behind bars or fell under the investigation into “extremist” articles . - I. J. ), baked pies to lawyers who protect them. I waited for a return to Ukraine: I raised a bull for two years to celebrate it. I did not wait. I think it’s right to say that she was brought to death.
-Many here converge in the thought that the Vedzhi-Abla did not die because they wanted to detain her, but because other people were detained because of her. After all, Bekir Degermendi and Asan Chapukh asked the Turk to return the money that he occupied from the Vedzhe Kashka. It was scary for Vedzhi-Ebla that, because of her personal problems, other people could be sent to the bars. She herself, three times deported from the Crimea, was not terrible for any detentions, ”says Leila Crimean Tatar, who came to the funeral.
The Veda Kashka for the Crimean Tatars is a symbol of the struggle for the right to live on their native land. They say about her: "Opening the way to their homeland." Kashka was deported from Crimea to Uzbekistan in 1944 at the age of 10. In the late 1960s, immediately after the withdrawal of the status of the “special settlement”, she made an attempt to return to the Crimea with one of the first Crimean Tatars, but was expelled for the lack of a residence permit. In 1969, her family tried to return to Crimea a second time, but they did not give a residence permit again. It was possible to return to the native of the Vedzha Kashka only in 1974, and this required the personal intercession of academician Andrei Sakharov, who sent a letter to the deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR Vladimir Shcherbitsky.

In the house of Kashka - in Soviet times and in Ukraine - gatherings of Crimean Tatar activists took place. For a long time, she helped the Soviet dissident and the Crimean Tatars Peter Grigorenko. One of those who came to the funeral said to me: "She was the mother of Teresa of our people."
On the street it becomes more and more crowded. If there were fifty hours and a half before the ceremony, now - about a thousand people. They arrive constantly: a line of cars is stretched by almost a kilometer.

“There are people from all over Crimea,” the young girl Aisha explains to me. - For our people, the death of Kashka, and even under such circumstances, became a tragedy. And the tragedies are rafted.
Suddenly, in the crowd there are loud cries “Shame!” Wlocating into chanting. This is a member of the Presidential Council for the President of the Russian Federation on interethnic relations between Escender Bilyalov. He stands at the house for only a few seconds, after which he leaves hastily. People shout after him: “Mashara! Satkyn! "
“This means“ traitor, ”Aisha explains. - Bilyalov was the chairman of the Saksky Majlis, and then moved to the service of the state.
By the beginning of the funeral on the street, at least 2000 people are already less than 2000. The body of the Vedzhe Kashka is taken out of the house. The procession goes to the nearest field - for prayer. All the way people run to the stretcher with the body to hold on to them for at least a second.

After a ten -minute prayer, one of the leaders of the Crimean Tatars Nariman Jelal takes the word.
- The Almighty gave this woman to die not sick in bed, but in the struggle, next to her friends. With her death, she managed to rally our people, ”he says. - Vedzhe Kashka had a will: she asked us to continue to fight.

Killed and stolen
The death of Vedzha Kashka became the peak of the persecution of the disloyal to Russia of the Crimean Tatars. But during the location of the peninsula in the Russian Federation, she is not the only dead.
In October 2017, a month before the death of Kashka, the media reported that Lemar Alyadinov, who had disappeared dead in the Crimea, was found in Crimea. “The family received a notification that his body was found back in 2014. The body was allegedly buried, ”the Crimens public organization, which monitor human rights in the Crimea, said.
The very first victim of new orders on the peninsula was a 39-year-old resident of Simferopol will decide Ametov. On March 3, 2014, he went to the Crimean Council for a picket against the entry of Russian troops. CCTV cameras recorded how three men approached Lenin Lenin, two of which were dressed in the form of Crimea self -defense. They pushed the decisions into the back seat of a car parked at the Council of Commerce and took them towards the eastern departure from Simferopol. They decide Ametov did not return.
The search began the next day. Ametova was looking for the police and initiative groups of Crimean Tatars. On March 15, 2014, his corpse was found at the village of Zemlyanichnaya Belogorsky district.
The head of the deceased was tied with tape, numerous traces of beatings were visible on the body. Near the corpse were handcuffs. The cause of death was established by investigators - a stab in the eye.
After the detection of the body of Ametov, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under Art. 105 of the Criminal Code "Murder". During the investigation, 270 witnesses were interrogated and about 50 examinations were conducted. Self -defense officers who detained Ametov told the investigators that they “only took him away from the square, but did not kill him. It was not possible to establish the guilty. ("New" already talked about this in No. 80 of July 26, 2017).
In total, according to the CrimeSos organization, killed in Crimea since 2014, six of the Crimean Tatars oppositionly opposed to Russia were found.
Another 18 Crimean Tatar activists were abducted and are still listed as missing. The most famous case is the case of Erwin Ibragimov.
The 31-year-old activist was kidnapped on May 24, 2016 at the entrance to Bakhchisaray, 300 meters from his house. Erwin's car was stopped by two traffic police forms. On the records from video surveillance cameras, it is clear that the men who stopped Erwin first offer him to get out of the car and go towards the Ford Transit van on the road. The three of them go behind the van, and after a few seconds, Erwin runs out because of him, and two rush in pursuit. They catch up with Ibragimov, lay him on the ground, pushed him into the van and leave in the direction of the Bakhchisarai reservoir.
- Friends were looking for Erwin for three months throughout the Crimea. The bottom of the reservoir was examined - they did not find it there, ”says the father of the deceased Ibrahimov.
In July 2016, the Prosecutor of Crimea Natalya Poklonskaya said that the abduction of Erwin could be committed with the aim of "discrediting law enforcement agencies of Crimea."
"They asked if I had to dig holes?"
On September 13, 2017, in the village of Nizhnevorsk, unknown people in masks broke into the house of Renat Paralamov, a merchant of households, a moderator of several Muslim groups in VKontakte.
“There were six people,” Renat recalls. - They stated that they were looking for drugs and weapons. Then they asked me to show them the contents of the cabinets, seized gadgets belonging to the mother -in -law of the book “The Muslim Fortress” and demanded to go with them.
In the video made by the fellow villagers of Paralamov, it is clear that the car is driving behind the car on which he is taken away.
- I was taken outside the village. When he began to be indignant, they put a bag on his head, ”Renat recalls. - The car stopped. With a bag on his head, they brought into the building to the first floor. Then came a man who introduced himself as my lawyer, and the first thing he hit me in the chest. I was offered two options for cooperation: to be left without health or with health. They asked which mosque I go, what I know about Hizb U-Tahrir ( an organization recognized as terrorist and prohibited in Russia. - Ed. ) And why a Tor browser is installed on my laptop. I answered evasively, about the browser said that I wanted to read the Ukrainian media. They did not like my answers. After the next evasive answer to the buttocks, something was attached, the start began to beat. I fainted. I woke up without a bag. A woman came, measured pressure, made an injection. Then I signed some papers that I agreed to all the actions voluntarily.
The discovery of Renat Paralarmov at the Simferopol bus station, lawyer Emil Kurbedinov announced the day after his abduction. After the torture of Paralam, he was forced to leave for Kherson. There he lay in the hospital for 15 days, and then he decided to move to Kyiv with his family. None of the mocking him is established.
Six months before the abduction of Renat Paralamov, March 15, 2017, Emil Mukhteremov was detained in Feodosia.
- On the street, two people dressed in a civilian approached me. They said that they were working in the FSB of Yalta and I should be interrogated in the case of the Yalta cell Hizb Ut-Tahrir. The fact is that a year ago I really lived in Yalta, and in a local mosque. We got into the car. We traveled around Feodosia for a long time, found out where the FSB is located. Then they still found it. I was brought into the office, they began to name the names of Bakhtiyar Topuz and Damir Menadirov ( not one of them was accused of participating in prohibited organizations . - I. J. ). They asked if I know them? I answered all the questions that I did not know. Then they said that I would have time to think - a long day. They took my phone and again led to the car. We left the city and drove towards Belogorsk. Then, having drove the village of Zybino, we turned from the main road to the field. I was asked if I had to dig holes? I said no. Then one of them stated that such an opportunity would present me now.
Emil was brought to an abandoned building four kilometers from the highway.
- They asked about five minutes to tell everything, and then suddenly turned around and went to the exit. When they had already left the building, I heard the words: "Yes, to hell is he needed?" And all, they left.
Emil Mukhteremov is one of the few tortured Crimean Tatars who decided not to leave Crimea. The systematic use of torture in Crimea is said in the report of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, but the exact number of cases is not called. As for the Crimean Tatar activists, the use of prohibited interrogation methods to them has been recorded since 2014 at least four times.
Criminal cases
Both Renata Paralamov and Emil Mukhteremova during interrogations were asked what they knew about Hizb Ut-Tahrir. In Ukraine, this organization is not prohibited, and in Russia it is recognized as terrorist. By March 2014, in Crimea, according to various estimates, from 2000 to 10,000 of its supporters lived.
Hizb Ut-Tahrir calls for the establishment of world caliphate peacefully. Her members are forbidden to pick up weapons.
Meanwhile, the Crimean Tatars, whom the FSB suspects of relations with this organization, are accused and sent to prison under a terrorist article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, to which, due to the idea of the world caliphate, they also add an article 278 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “violent seizure of power or violent deduction of power”.
In total, 25 people were detained in Crimea in Crimea, four of whom have already been sentenced to deprivation of liberty for a term of 5 to 15 years.
- At 6 o’clock in the morning there was a loud clatter on the street. Then I see - lanterns, the full court of people in masks, with machine guns. Everything is in black, ”recalls Meriem Kuku, the wife of the 41-year-old Emir-Usein Kuku, the wife of the Yalta Hizba Yalta Cell. - They began to break the door, beat her with machine guns. Then they burst. The husband immediately laid the husband, put on the handcuffs and read out the court order of the search. Now I understand: they have already come with a sentence. They turned the whole house turned over. We checked the freezer, trash, linen basket. I remember that the operative puts on gloves and says: "Do not worry, we will see everything now." All children's books rummaged, drawings. They found books on the Crimean Tatar - forced to tell me what each. They got to the bottom of the Qur'an: "And that you have so many of them?" “Well,” I say, “sorry.”
According to Meriem Kuk, the children - little Safie and Bekir - took a search calmly. “They already knew that it happens,” she says.

Operational actions lasted six hours. At the end of them, the FSB officers took Emir-Usin with them. The investigator managed the search told his family: "In the evening you are OFO!"
Emir-Usein Kuk was charged under the same articles 205.5 and 278 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Merje is sure that her husband has nothing to do with the Hizbam.
- He was taken because he twice refused to cooperate with the FSB. Special services offered to become their agent, because the husband was very respected in Yalta. He was an official, people turned to him - they even came home with their questions. In 2015, he was already detained for some posts in Odnoklassniki, written back in Ukraine. Then it was not possible to plant. But now he is sitting. He generally accepted Russia, we knew that it was a tough state.
In addition to relations with Hizb Ut-Tahrir of Crimean Tatars, they are accused of relations with other organizations that are recognized as terrorist or extremist in Russia. In September 2016, the recognition of the extremist Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people, the representative body of the Crimean Tatars, created back in 1991, was widely discussed. Two deputy chairpers of the Mejlis - Ilmi Umarov and Akhtem Chiygoz - were sentenced to real criminal terms. Umarov - for the phrase “Sanctions must force Russia to leave Crimea and Donbass,” which the FSB considered a call to violation of the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation; Chiygoz - for the “organization of mass riots” at the Verkhovna Rada of Crimea on February 26, 2014 (then the building of the Crimean parliament occurred clashes of pro -Russian and pro -Ukrainian activists). Both, however, were subsequently released and delivered to Turkey as a result of negotiations of the presidents of Ukraine, Turkey and the Russian Federation.
Despite the fact that Akhtem Chiygoz was free, the “February 26 case” retains its relevance: two more Crimean Tatars - Ali Asanov and Mustafa Degermmenji are accused of it. The latter is the son of Bekir Degermendi, detained along with the deceased 82-year-old Vedzha Kashka.
Unity
The Crimean Tatars themselves constantly emphasize that the pressure provided did not bring discord to their society, but on the contrary, has become a unifying factor.
So, in May 2016, the Bisim Balalar (“Our Children”) association was formed, which collects assistance to children of the Crimean Tatars who fell under investigation or convicted for their political position (as in the case of the terrorist Hizb Ut-Tahrir recognized in the Russian Federation).
“On May 18 last year, on the 72nd anniversary of the deportation of the Crimean Tatars from Crimea, the poetess Lily Budzhurova and I decided to visit the families of the detainees in Bakhchisarai on suspicion of ties with the Hizbas,” says Elzar Islyamova, a member of the Bisim Balalar, Elzar Islyamov. - Three families visited: in one three children, in the other - four, in the third - six. We brought them money, brought gifts to somehow support in such a difficult situation.
