The Sverdlovsk District Court of Irkutsk today arrested for six days an employee of the headquarters of Navalny Zakhara Sarapulov. He was found guilty of violating the rules for organizing a public event - a rally with the participation of politician Alexei Navalny, which took place in Irkutsk on November 4.
Sarapulov was accused of the fact that through the social network he invited the inhabitants of Irkutsk to come to a meeting with Navalny and wrote different posts on this topic. According to lawyer Stepan Bobrov, they will appeal the decision of the court of first instance in the Irkutsk Regional Court. In protest, Sarapulov announced a hunger strike.
The coordinator of the Irkutsk headquarters Sergey Bespalov (he served seven days) and entrepreneur Dmitry Tolmachev were previously arrested for organizing the unauthorized rally of Alexei Navalny (he was given five days of arrest). Both Bespalov and Tolmachev appealed the arrests, but the Irkutsk regional court upheld the decision of the Sverdlovsk District Court.
Police officers drew up another protocol on an administrative offense against the volunteer of the headquarters of Navalny Roman Khludnev. He is also considered the organizer of an unauthorized rally. The court has not yet considered the Khludnev case.
