In Chita, the Central District Court fined Alexandra Parshikova, a volunteer of the local headquarters of opposition politician Alexei Navalny, 1.5 thousand rubles under Article 20.3 of the Administrative Code (propaganda or public display of Nazi paraphernalia or symbols), reports . Open Russia

The court ruled that the volunteer published pictures on her VKontakte page that contained Nazi symbols. Parshikova’s lawyer, Marina Savvateeva, argued that the published images were historical photographs that the girl saved on her page to prepare for her essay.

Parshikova said that the local department of Center “E” sent her a subpoena. The volunteer also claimed that the security forces did not introduce themselves to her and threatened her with problems due to the fact that she did not have registration at her place of residence and the girl worked unofficially.

In 2015, the Sovetsky District Court of Krasnodar fined activist Yulia Usach 1.5 thousand rubles for publishing on VKontakte historical photographs and cartoons with a swastika, ridiculing Nazism. Among the photos that Usach published were Nazi banners abandoned by Soviet soldiers on Red Square.
