They decided to punish a resident of Balakovo “indicatively” after a picket near the prosecutor’s office building

Nadezhda Poznyakova, a resident of the city of Balakovo in the Saratov region, was promised a “demonstrative” punishment after she held a picket in front of the prosecutor’s office, protesting against the initiation of a criminal case against her. This was reported on the website of the Fre-News Volga news agency.

Poznyakova arrived in Saratov and staged a one-man picket at the regional prosecutor's office in protest against the criminal case initiated against her for fraud. The woman received a subsidy for housing, but then changed the apartment and lost her rights to receive budgetary funds. For a while, the money was transferred to her anyway. According to Poznyakova, as soon as she found out that she had lost her right to a subsidy, she immediately returned the money - social services had no complaints against her.

In Saratov, the activist met with a representative of the prosecutor's office, who listened to her and promised to inform the authorities. Poznyakova returned to Balakovo, and the next day she was summoned to the police, where they presented the materials of the criminal case for review. Familiarization of the accused with the case is the final stage of the investigation, after which the case is transferred to the prosecutor's office, and then to the court.

Poznyakova said that in an informal conversation with her lawyer, the police said that they already wanted to close the case, but since she decided to make a showy noise, “she will be punished in the same way.”

According to the activist, the criminal prosecution is connected with her social activity. On May 1, she took part in a demonstration with a banner that read "No money, but you hold on." Shortly thereafter, a criminal case was opened against her.
