Conspirological versions of the murder of the Romanov family were refuted after examinations conducted in 1993-1997 and 2007-2008. In 1991, nine skeletons were discovered near Yekaterinburg, which, with a high degree of probability, were the remains of the royal family (with the exception of Tsarevich Alexei and Princess Maria, they did not find their remains by that time).

Investigators did not find signs of a “ritual nature” of murder or postponement of heads.
