Felgenhauer in an interview with The Washington Post: I'm sure the attack is related to my work

Tatyana Felgenhauer, host of the Ekho Moskvy radio station, who survived the attack, gave an interview to The Washington Post . Felgenhauer has stated that she loves her job and trying to kill her won't change that.

“I understand that if I hadn’t been a journalist, if I hadn’t broadcast, didn’t take interviews, if I hadn’t been myself, no one would have found a reason to kill me. I am sure that the attempt to take my life is related to my work,” she said.

The newspaper recalls that Russian television could also play a role in the attack on the host of Ekho Moskvy. Since before the attack, the presenter was given an important place in the report of the Russia-24 TV channel , where she was accused of working for the US State Department.

Society in Russia is divided between those who watch TV, where federal channels aggressively support the Kremlin's policies, and those who find other sources of news. And aggression - towards journalists and towards people from the opposite point of view - is growing, Felgenhauer shared her opinion.

“When people see on TV every day that on a political show you can attack your opponent and even hit him, they think they can do the same in real life,” she said.

The attack on the leading radio station "Echo of Moscow" took place on October 23. The attacker was arrested. He explained his actions by saying that Felgenhauer, using telepathic contact, "harassed him sexually" every night for the past two months.
