A court in Astrakhan fined a participant in an action in memory of victims of repression 5,000 rubles

The Kirovsky District Court of Astrakhan fined Aleksey Tyurin, a participant in the rally of victims of Stalinist repressions, for 5,000 rubles. This was reported on the Immortal Barracks page on VKontakte.

Tyurin was found guilty under Part 5 of Art. 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation by a participant of the procedure for holding a public event). The protocol was drawn up under Part 2 of Art. 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (organization of a public event without notification), but the case was reclassified in court.

On October 30, in Astrakhan, civil activists, including Alexei Tyurin, held a rally in memory of the victims of political repression in the USSR. On November 22, a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs spoke with the activists who took part in the action. He stated that their actions fall under Part 2 of Art. 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (organization of an unapproved public event).

On November 24, police officers handed Tyurin a copy of the administrative violation report, which states that the activist violated the picketing order, since "the distance between the picketers was less than 20 meters." The activist noted in the document that he did not agree with the protocol. His case was taken to court .

Demands to appear at the police department were also issued to the protesters Zarifa Kurochkina and Elena Grebenyuk. However, when Kurochkin called the police officer who issued the demand, he said that the activist was "no longer needed."
