In 2018, they plan to close the Exchange Bridge for repairs, said Andrei Kochin, deputy director for supervision and maintenance of St. Petersburg State Budgetary Institution.

The repair work project is being developed. According to the “driver of St. Petersburg”, “Mostotrest” is going to repair the carriageway, the divorce mechanism, the fence and the power supply circuit.

“Repair will definitely not begin until the completion of the 2018 World Cup. From experience, I can say that the repair should begin by the end of next year, ”Kochin said.

The Committee for the Development of Transport Infrastructure explained that the design of the repair will end in 2018, after that they will decide when they will close the bridge. It does not specify what complexity the work is planned and whether it is necessary to completely or partially close the crossing.
