The Ministry of Justice included protesting truck drivers in the list of foreign agents

The Ministry of Justice has entered the Association of Carriers of Russia (OPR) into the register of foreign agents. The organization consists of truckers protesting against the Platon system.

The website of the Ministry of Justice reports that the decision was made as a result of an “unscheduled documentary check”. OPR Chairman Andrey Bazhutin told Interfax that the association does not receive funding from abroad.

“We had a check. Today I got a call from the Ministry of Justice and was told that they had sent us the verification materials. We presented the materials three days ago, and for what it was produced, we did not understand, because we have no ties with foreigners at all, ”he said.

The association of carriers of Russia appeared after mass protests of truckers against the Platon toll system. According to Ekho Moskvy, in December the organization plans to start a strike timed to coincide with the start of registration of presidential candidates.
