French writer and historian Jean d'Ormesson died on the night of Monday to Tuesday at the age of 92 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, writes TASS.
“He always said he would leave without saying everything, but today it happened. He left us wonderful books,” said Eloise d’Ormesson, the writer’s daughter.
Jean d'Ormesson is the author of more than forty books. In 1973 he was elected to the French Academy, was Secretary General of the International Council for Philosophy and Human Sciences of UNESCO, and from 1974 to 1977 headed the newspaper Le Figaro.
