Alexandra Nikolaenko became a laureate of the Russian Booker

The winner of the Russian Booker Prize was Alexandra Nikolaenko with her novel “Kill Bobrykin. The story of a murder." The name of the winner was announced in Moscow on December 5, 2017.

The competition was open to novels published between June 16, 2016 and June 15, 2017. The jury included last year's laureate Pyotr Aleshkovsky, poet Alexey Purin, literary critic Artem Skvortsov, prose writer and 2015 Russian Booker laureate Alexander Snegirev and director of the Penza Regional Library Marina Osipova.

The winner will receive a prize of 1.5 million rubles, the finalists - Mikhail Gigolashvili, Igor Malyshev, Vladimir Medvedev, Alexander Melikhov and Dmitry Novikov - 150,000 rubles each.

The Student Booker jury chose “Zahhok” by Vladimir Medvedev as the best novel.

The Russian Booker literary prize was founded in 1991.
