1812 Napoleon's flight from Russia

205 years ago, on December 5, 1812, Emperor Napoleon secretly left the remnants of the "Great Army" in Russia and headed from Vilna to Paris to form a new army. Marshal Michel Ney, who remained in command, managed nine days later to transport only 10 thousand people across the Neman - to the Duchy of Warsaw and Prussia, of which only 1600 remained combat-ready. At the beginning of the campaign in Russia, the "Great Army" numbered 422 thousand people.
