The inhabitants of Odessa ridiculed the residential building, calling it the most ugly in the city. The scandalous dwelling is located in the very center, opposite the house in which the writer Ivan Bunin once lived. In social networks, they are indignant that the owners of the building despise the aesthetic feelings of the townspeople.
The scandalous building has two floors, and the upper is much more than the lower. From this the house looks strange and ridiculous. Users of social networks call the structure "jerkalous."
It is unclear how city officials, including the chief architect, could allow him to appear 150 meters from the Ukrainian theater and the National Library. The owners of the building violated all the construction standards, spitting on Ukrainian laws, as well as the aesthetic feelings of Odessa, writes the city site 048.ua.
"This is just some kind of monument to our corruption and dark time, when people stopped creating beauty and thinking about the future. How to stop this architectural vandalism that grows on every corner, with each new unauthorized attic and such booths?" - the authors of the Odessa Culturemometer portal are indignant.
The media ironically notice that the chief architect of the city can calculate this building beautiful. He himself has a 15-meter balcony on pipes at the height of the third floor, to which he managed to officially issue all the necessary permits.
In the summer of 2016, activists demanded the resignation of the chief architect of Odessa, but the rally came out small. Alexander Golovanov remained in the post and continues to lead urban planning.
