Mikhail Saakashvili calls on supporters to reach the Maidan and demands the resignation of the President of Ukraine

They had to hack the door to the room. A crowd of his supporters gathered near the House of Politics, the authorities adjusted the machines of the Salvation, Police, Ambulance Service. Saakashvili himself climbed onto the roof of the house , from where he turned to the supporters.

“Poroshenko in collusion with Putin took for a goal to detain me. And throw him in prison in Ukraine or in Georgia. By order of Putin, they are fabricating the data so that no one says that Poroshenko is a thief, a traitor to the people of Ukraine, ”Saakashvili said.

Despite his threats to jump from the roof, the SBU employees detained a politician and led out of the building. He was charged with an attempt to overthrow state power, lawyer Pavel Bogomazov said. The Security Service of Ukraine reported that Saakashvili was detained in the framework of criminal proceedings opened under Art. 256 h. 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - "assistance to participants in criminal organizations and concealing their criminal activities."

To take away Saakashvili for interrogation to law enforcement officers did not give a crowd of supporters of the politician. People blocked the SBU minibus and demanded to free Saakashvili. During the clashes, the police used tear gas . In response to this, the audience began to build barricades. As a result, the activists managed to free Saakashvili, in their environment he proceeded to the building of the Ukrainian parliament, where the rally began.

The Kyiv prosecutor’s office opened a criminal case on the obstruction of law enforcement officers by activists.

Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko said that Saakashvili received $ 0.5 million from businessman Sergei Kurchenko hiding in Russia in Ukraine, Interfax reports. According to him, the facts of cooperation between a number of politicians, first of all, Mikhail Saakashvili, with members of the organized criminal group Yanukovych, with the money of which Saakashvili and his close associates financed their protests organized.

Saakashvili in the square in the center of Kyiv stated that he would leave "only the winner." He called for the President of Ukraine to resign and accused Yuri Lutsenko of the provocations of the Prosecutor General and the Security Service of Ukraine.
