On November 29, all members of the organizing committee of the Nationalist Party were summoned for questioning by the Investigative Committee of Moscow on suspicion of participation in the activities of an extremist organization. Investigators suggest that the party may allegedly be associated with the extremist and banned ethnopolitical association “Russians” recognized in Russia. One of the members of the Nationalist Party reported this to OVD-Info.
In addition to the members of the organizing committee, several other supporters of the organization were summoned. Fingerprints were taken from everyone, DNA samples and material for graphological examination were collected, and photographs were taken. The activists summoned for questioning refused to testify against themselves, exercising their right (Article 51 of the Constitution).
As party supporters suggest, the investigative actions are related to the events of November 5, when supporters of the Artpodgotovka movement of Vyacheslav Maltsev took to street “revolutionary” actions. Members of the Nationalist Party themselves say that the party has nothing to do with Maltsev’s movement.
On November 4,police officers burst into the apartment of the relatives of the co-chairman of the Nationalist Party, Ivan Beletsky, with a search. On November 10, the police searched the office of the Nationalist Party, seized equipment, paraphernalia and documentation. On November 30, the mother of the former press secretary of the Nationalist Party Denis Romanov received a call from employees of the Center for Countering Extremism. The employees of Center “E” tried to put pressure on her and threatened her.
