A magistrate in Samara dismissed the administrative case of activist Maxim Dementyev, who, after the rally on October 7, called for signatures in support of Alexei Navalny. Rosbalt reports this.
Dementyev was accused of illegal campaigning, but the court did not see any violations in his actions.
“On October 7 there was a rally, after which the police detained three people and took them to the department. Our guys went to the police department and, while they were waiting for the detainees to be released, Maxim Dementyev loudly invited everyone to come to our headquarters and verify the signatures for Alexei Navalny. The police considered that the call to come and verify the signature was a violation of Article 5.10 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation and illegal propaganda. Today the magistrate’s court did not agree with this,” Ekaterina Gerasimova, coordinator of Alexei Navalny’s local election headquarters, told the publication.
