The meeting of RAS professors, held in the Moscow House of Scientists on November 30, 2017, did not foretell any surprises. At the very beginning, the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Sergeev addressed the audience. He said that at the General Meeting of the Russian Academy of Sciences, which will take place on March 29–30, 2018, among other important matters, by-elections of professors of the Russian Academy of Sciences will be held. The leadership of the Academy does not yet want to increase the number of RAS professors to 1,500 people (as was originally planned).
