According to Le Figaro , lung cancer became the cause of death.

Johnny Hollidei (real name Jean-Philipp Sumes) was born in 1943 in Paris, in the late 1950s he began to perform in a cabar, performing rock and roll in French.

In 1960, his debut album “Hello Johnny” was released, in 1961, Johnny Hollidet created his own Golden String group and recorded the Cabbie Checker Cheken Chemistry “Let's Twist Again” , which dispersed more than a million circulation and took the first places of almost all European hit parades.

Johnny Holliday became one of the most popular rock performers of France, he was called "French Elvis."
