A man who received serious burns in an accident on a heating main in Moscow's Golyanovo died in hospital, a source in medical circles told Interfax.
“The patient, who was in extremely serious condition, died in the hospital today at 14:20,” the agency’s source said. He noted that the burns were too serious and it was not possible to save the victim’s life.
An accident on a heating main in eastern Moscow occurred on the evening of November 29. Hot water flooded the roadway. Eight people were injured as a result of the accident. It was previously reported that a 36-year-old man was in extremely serious condition with burns to his head, torso, upper and lower extremities. The remaining victims were hospitalized with burns to their legs.
Due to the accident, residents of the Golyanovo, Northern Izmailovo, Metrogorodok, Ivanovskoye, Vostochnoye Izmailovo, and Izmailovo districts were left without heating and hot water.
On the morning of November 29, Moscow authorities announced that the accident had been eliminated. Later, Deputy Mayor for Housing and Public Utilities and Public Improvement Pyotr Biryukov said that some people suffered through their own fault.
