On December 5, employees of the Prosecutor General’s Office (GPU), together with colleagues from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), detained the ex-president of Georgia and the ex-governor of the Odessa region Mikhail Saakashvili, now heading the Opposition Party “The Movement of New Forces”. Moreover, they detained on the roof of the house along Kostelnaya Street in Kyiv, where he lives. But further the events took an unexpected turn. Politics could not deliver to the pre -trial detention center - Saakashvili supporters first blocked the cars of the security forces, and then literally pulled him out of their hands.
The Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office accuses Saakashvili of cooperation with the criminal organization. General Prosecutor Yuri Lutsenko showed audio and videos that, in his opinion, prove: Saakashvili received at least $ 300 thousand from the disgraced oligarch Sergei Kurchenko, who escaped after the victory of the Maidan with the Yanukovych team in Russia.
According to Lutsenko, the SBU was engaged in a business against Saakashvili. As a result of the wiretap of the phone of the politician and his associates, the counterintelligence recorded the conversation of Saakashvili with the man whose voice, according to the Prosecutor General, belongs to Sergei Kurchenko. Lutsenko also claims that the SBU managed to recruit an intermediary who was supposed to transfer money from Kurchenko Severion Dangesze, to the comrade -in -arms of Saakashvili. Danadze is now heading the Kiev regional branch of the Saakashvili Party “The Movement of New Forces”. The General Prosecutor General Lutsenko showed a video of the meeting of the intermediary and Danga at a briefing in Kyiv, and then in the Rada meetings. According to Lutsenko, the transfer of money from Kurchenko took place twice - on November 10 and 19 of this year.
On the night of December 4, the SBU employees detained Dangadze at the Bukovel ski resort, in the west of Ukraine. Then they came to the conclusion that they now have more than enough grounds for detaining Saakashvili himself.
While the question was being clarified whether the prosecutors have the right to detain Saakashvili, he shouted from the roof to the city and the world: “I urge the people to go out onto the streets and prevent Poroshenko from kidnapping me by order of Putin”
At 7 in the morning, the security forces tried to get into Saakashvili’s apartment on Kostelnaya, in the center of Kyiv, near the Maidan. The apartment is located on the 7th, the upper floor. The security forces were not able to knock the door for a long time, and the owner of the apartment did not open. Finally, after half an hour the efforts of the special forces of the SBU of the apartment were knocked out, but the owner was not in it. As it turned out later, through the window of the attic, Saakashvili got out onto the roof and began to scream from there so that the residents of neighboring apartments called the police.

There was a curiosity: the security forces drowned out a mobile communications around the Saakashvili house, and this came around themselves: the special forces who remained below could not report the colleagues on the roof, they had to run up and down the stairs.
While Saakashvili was on the roof, a lawyer came to him. And it turned out that investigators of the GPU did not have a court sanction to detain his client.

After about an hour, the SBU special forces finally removed Saakashvili from the roof. In the meantime, about a hundred of his supporters gathered below. A police special forces also drove up to the place. SBU officers managed to put Saakashvili in an official car, but nothing more. Supporters of the detainee blocked the path of the security forces of the security forces, the police tried to push them away. All this lasted three hours. Saakashvili's supporters during this time managed to pierce the tires of the power of security forces, disassemble part of the paving stones on the street and even build a small barricade. Both sides used tear gas.
Having waited for reinforcements, the police nevertheless pushed the protesters from the car with Saakashvili, and she moved along the street. But at some point, Saakashvili's supporters opened the rear doors of the car by force, the ex-president of Georgia got out of it, holding in one hand already unbuttoned handcuffs.
At first he went to church, which was almost at his house, but he did not hide there for a long time and with a crowd of supporters went outside.
Then, along the street of Grushevsky Saakashvili in the dense environment of the crowd (the picture was exactly the same when it was literally transferred through the Ukrainian-Polish border in September this year) went to the building of the Verkhovna Rada.
Meanwhile, the Prosecutor General Yuri Lutsenko came out in the building of the Rada to journalists. He praised the law enforcement officers who detained Saakashvili in the morning, after which he apologized for the inefficiency of their actions.

“I am quite aware that democracy cannot be protected by weak power structures,” Lutsenko complained. - Yes, this is true, five SBU employees today thought about how not to go about those who want to shed blood. Nevertheless, unfortunately, today the law enforcement system of Ukraine has shown weakness. I think this is unacceptable, because any state is mandatory rights and mandatory responsibility. ”
Here in the words of Lutsenko, many caught a nod towards the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs and his head of Arsen Avakov, with whom no one agreed on the detention of Saakashvili.
As a result, since Saakashvili was never detained, he was immediately put on the wanted list.
While Lutsenko was speaking to the journalists, Saakashvili was somewhere 50 meters from him, on the stage in the Mariinsky Park near the parliament building. Speaking there in front of his supporters, he urged people to gather before Rada, so that he traditionally repeatedly repeated, "to expel thieves and hucksters."
After that, Saakashvili went to the tent town, broken near the building of the Rada with his supporters, and is still there. He repeated to journalists that he was not familiar with Sergey Kurchenko, and the video that the Prosecutor General showed was a fake.
“They were scared of our march last week,” Saakashvili explained to the Ukrainian Pravda reporters. - Poroshenko sent Granovsky to me ( the deputy of the Rada from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction. It is unofficially believed that he is overseeing the SBU and GPU. - NT), who directly threatened: if I do not get out of the country, if I do not stop talking about corruption, especially in the military sector, they will create a compromise on the line of the SBU. "
In the immediate plans of Saakashvili - to stay with their supporters near the building of the Rada, in the tent town (here is now the safest place for him), and from here to call for the impeachment of Poroshenko, who seems to be so angry with his former comrade that he will not calm down until he will expel him from the Ukrainian territory. At the same time, the announcement of Saakashvili on the wanted list looks at least comical - everyone knows where he is and how to get to him.
The adventures of Saakashvili on December 5, 2017 gave rise to many memes: in Ukraine it is already compared with the “Carlson, who lives on the roof”, and even laid out a Lezginka in the social network performed by Mikhail Nikolozovich and his supporters-again on the roof.
