Supporters and opponents of the former President of Georgia are preparing for its possible extradition. The opposition announces mass protests if Mikhail Saakashvili is in a Tbilisi prison. In the coming days, the city court will issue a verdict in the first of the four criminal cases initiated against the ex-president. But it is unclear whether the current authorities of Georgia are interested in Saakashvili's extradition, since his appearance in his homeland in any capacity can provoke political tension and even confrontation in a country with experience of a civil war

Late in the evening on Tuesday, former President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili, already released by his supporters from the car, on which he had to be taken to the Kiev court, gave an interview with the Georgian opposition television company Rustavi-2. Direct inclusion was organized from a tent standing near the rally passing there.

Supporters freed Saakashvili directly from a police car

The ex-president said that he was feeling like the legendary magician Harry Gudini, because he "knew how to release his hands from the handcuffs." The leader of the “Movement of New Forces” called all the accusations against himself “idiotic” and warned that the handcuffs (he kept their interviews in his hands all the time) “will soon put on Petro Poroshenko,” and the same SBU employees who came to arrest him in the morning.

Saakashvili claimed that representatives of law enforcement agencies of Ukraine allegedly whispered to his ear of curse to President Poroshenko. The ex-president is confident: the Ukrainian authorities put forward all the accusations against him only with the aim of discrediting. But in fact, no one intends to judge him in Ukraine, since all “fabricated and fake evidence” will be collapsed at the first hearing. Therefore, Mikhail Saakashvili considers his extradition to Tbilisi most likely after a second arrest, which he, apparently, does not exclude. “Ukraine is important to me, but my heart is with Georgia,” the ex-president concluded significantly, urging his Georgian supporters to act actively for the final victory.

A rally at the monument

On Wednesday, in the center of Tbilisi, at the monument to the medieval poet Shot Rustaveli, a rally will be held, and then a procession of supporters of Mikhail Saakashvili. Such a decision was made at a meeting of his party "Unified National Movement" (UND). The Chairman of the Political Council, Yend Nika Melia, said at an extraordinary briefing that Georgians should reach a rally in order to "demonstrate their determination to confront the oligarchs of Ukraine and Georgia."

The oppositionist is convinced: the latest decisions of the Ukrainian authorities are the result of the "conspiracy" of the leaders of Ukraine and Georgia. The main character from the Georgian side, the opposition considers the founder of the ruling coalition "Georgian Dream" to Bidzin Ivanishvili.

In an exclusive interview with Radio, Freedom Member of the Political Council END Nugzar Ciceluri said that he considers Mikhail Saakashvili Extradition to Georgia as the most likely option. Although it does not exclude other possibilities: imprisonment in Ukraine or expulsion to a third country.

“Regardless of whether it will be extradited or not, our party begins large -scale shares in defense of Mikhail Saakashvili,” Nugzar Ciceluri said, warning that the UND will act on the situation ”after the founder and permanent leader of the party will be in the Georgian prison.

Nugzar Ciceluri could not answer the question of RS, whether the associates of the ex-president will try to immediately free Mikhail Saakashvili, as happened in Kyiv. “This is due to purely logistics problems: we don’t know where Misha [Mikhail Saakashvili] will be taken from the airport and which prison they will put it into,” the interlocutor of the RS complained. However, Cicelsuri is convinced: no matter what institution of the country's penitentiary system would settle the third president, "this prison will begin the thousands of protest rallies will begin." "Mikhail Saakashvili is the creator of the new Georgian state. Therefore, the protest against his prison imprisonment will be very sharp," warned a member of the political council of the opposition party.

Who and why fears Saakashvili?

But the leaders of the ruling party "Georgian Dream" all this time demonstrate Olympic calm. They consider Mikhail Saakashvili’s extradition quite natural and expected, since in their opinion, the former president must answer for all the crimes committed in Georgia.

The deputy from the Georgian Dream, director Nukri Cantaria called Mikhail Saakashvili's behavior "shameful". In particular, the director and politics were hit by the fact that the third president of Georgia "runs along the roofs." And according to the deputy of Catherine Beselia, the issue of extradction of Mikhail Saakashvili "dates back to the competence of the prosecutors of the two countries and is not related to politics."

But, judging by many signs, Mikhail Saakashvili’s extradition is unprofitable for him, as this can lead to destabilization: the ex-president in Georgia has not only fanatical supporters, but no less fanatical opponents. And as in the case of extradition of the former head of state, events will develop in a country with experience in the Civil War, it is difficult to predict.

During a recent telephone conversation with the Russian Pranker, the former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Georgy Mgebrischvili, taking the interlocutor for his Ukrainian colleague Arsen Avkova, claimed that Prime Minister Quirikashvili asks the Ukrainian leadership not to extradite the former president to his homeland, because "everything is calm now, and the appearance in Georgia of this adventurer can destabilize the situation."

The head of the coalition of non -governmental organizations "European Georgia" Keti Gabiani is convinced: the arrest of Mikhail Saakashvili is an order not to the Georgian authorities, but by Moscow and Vladimir Putin personally. “All orders come from Moscow. The Ukrainian and Georgian authorities only fulfill them,” Keti Gabiani is sure. “This action is not only against Mikhail Saakashvili, but against the entire free world,” said Gabiani RS. "Saakashvili pushes the peoples to a better life so that they are not robbed," she believes.

Four times suspect

In the coming days, the Tbilisi City Court will issue a verdict in the first of the criminal cases - for creating privileged conditions in prison and the subsequent pardon of high -ranking police officers convicted of abduction and death of the young Tbilisi banker Sandro Girgliani. In addition, Saakashvili is charged with embezzlement of state funds for expensive gifts by close, Botox injections and his son’s training for a state university at an American university.

The prosecutor’s office accuses the former president of the brutal overclocking of the opposition rally on November 7, 2007 and, finally, in organizing the beating special forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Deputy and Businessman Valery Gelashvili, who rudely insulted his wife in one of the newspaper interviews, the first lady of the country, Sandra Rulovs.

Given the legislative norm on the "absorption of the terms of conclusion", the former president threatens to eleven years in prison.
