Tkachev called on Rosselkhoznadzor and PepsiCo to make peace

The conflict between Rosselkhoznadzor and PepsiCo will soon be resolved, said Minister of Agriculture Alexander Tkachev in an interview with the Rossiya 24 TV channel. According to him, reconciliation will happen in the coming days or even hours.

Tkachev noted that each side must draw certain conclusions. “I think that Rosselkhoznadzkhor will conduct an internal investigation into how internal information was transferred to an international company,” Tkachev said. In turn, PepsiCo must figure out which employees took advantage of this.

On December 4, Rosselkhoznadzor accused PepsiCo of illegally obtaining proprietary information. According to the department, PepsiCo Vice President Sergei Glushkov, at a meeting between Soyuzmolok representatives and the management of Rosselkhoznadzor, presented a copy of an internal official document of Rosselkhoznadzor marked “for official use.” This document was not sent to the company, Rosselkhoznadzor noted. A PepsiCo representative responded that the information is not true and the company uses only legal methods of interaction with government agencies.

The conflict did not end there. On December 5, Rosselkhoznadzor reported that it suspected PepsiCo of conducting a hacker attack for the purpose of commercial espionage. Interfax wrote about this with reference to a representative of the department. In turn, the company called this assumption “absurd.”
