Momoma will become a platform of curatorial battles Eunic

On December 9, the Moscow Museum of Contemporary Art (MOMMA) will be an open presentation of curatorial projects, which will summarize the competition for young Russian curators as part of the program of unification of the institutions of culture of the European Union (Eunic).

The annual internship program for young Russian curators in European cultural organizations this year is held for the sixth time. In Russia, the program is supported by Goethe Institute, the Austrian Cultural Forum, the British Council, the Embassy of Sweden, the French Institute and the Finnish Embassy.

The theme of the 2017 program is “Expanding the horizons”. The main task of the participants in the internship program is to formulate a curatorial concept that allows, for example, to go beyond the traditional idea of ​​holding exhibitions, to use new art forms, public platforms, on the one hand, and on the other hand, provide access to the exhibition of any audience, including people with disabilities.

This year, the event will be held in the space of MMOM . The jury will include Andrei Egorov (MMOMA), Alexey Maslyaev (MMOMA), Margarita Osepyan (state gallery on Solyanka), Vera Trakhtenbragg (the Center for Contemporary Art “Vinzavod”) and Marina Bobyleva (Gallery “Triumph”).

The implementation of the best project will be funded by a grant of 5000 euros.

After the curatorial battles, the Goethe-Institute in Moscow reports, a round table will take place, in which the director of the Lenbahhaus Museum in Munich Matias Mugling and the director of the Kiasm Modern Art Museum in Helsinki, Leo Haapala, will take part.
