The organizers of the 11th International Festival of Documentary Cinema "Artdokfest" were forced to make a film about the leader of the Crimean Tatars Mustafa Dzhemilev from the show. This was stated by the president of the film festival, director Vitaliy Mansky, reports Echo of Moscow.

According to Mansky, the organizers were not provided with any documents and justification of this decision. The president of the festival called what was happening. At the same time, Mansky did not specify who exactly received an indication of making the film from the show.

The film "Mustafa" was supposed to show on Thursday at 21:00 in the cinema "October" in the extra -curric program of the festival. At 19:40 the film was listed in the schedule of the festival, but it was impossible to buy a ticket for this session - the system reported: "The session was not found or the reservation is not available."

The film by Ukrainian director Ernes Sarykhalilov tells "Dzhemilev’s struggle for returning to Crimea from exile during the USSR, and about judicial persecution, and about 15 years spent by Dzhemilev in Soviet camps as a political prisoner," the festival website says .

On November 21, the Vice-Speaker of the State Duma, a member of the Supreme Council of United Russia, Peter Tolstoy submitted to General Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika and the head of the Ministry of Culture Vladimir Medinsky denunciations at Artdokfest , which takes place in Moscow on December 6-12.

The reason for the denunciations was the presence in the out -of -competition program of the festival of the tape of Ukrainian director Yevgeny Titarenko "War for the Peace" (2015), which is dedicated to the war with Russia and pro -Russian militants in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. The annotation of the film says that he says "about ordinary people who became volunteers to protect the integrity of his country."

As explained by Tolstoy, in 2014-2015, Titarenko himself was a participant in the ATO - he served in the medical team "Hospitallers", which is part of the Volunteer Corps of the "Right Sector". Based on this, Uneneros did not exclude that the demonstration of the picture could fall under Article 205.2 (public calls for terrorism), 280 (public calls for extremism) and 282 of the Criminal Code (excitement of national hatred or enmity).

According to Tolstoy, it is unacceptable “a show in the network of Russian cinemas of the film, in which Russia is represented by an aggressor country, and not a guarantor of the implementation of the Minsk agreements, and the ATO fighters in the southeast of Ukraine-heroes and benefactors.”

“It can be argued for a long time that this film is the subjective opinion of its author, which has the right to life,” said Uneneros. “But, in my opinion, does not have it - especially if it violates the legislation of the Russian Federation. But let the competent authorities understand this.”

The authorities have repeatedly made claims to Artdokfest. In 2015, the Ministry of Culturedemanded to exclude the film "Chaika" from the festival program about the business of the sons of the prosecutor general, prepared by the Corruption Fund. A year earlier, Medinsky refused Artdokfest in financing , explaining that the president of the festival, director Vitaliy Mansky, "spoke so many anti -state things that let the festival make at his own expense."
