Luda from childhood knew that studying is not just difficult, it is unpleasant. When Luda was five, they said in the orphanage that it was impossible to write with his left hand and wrong. The teacher did not beat her, did not punish her, but so carefully watched Luda writes that it was scary to disobey her. “My knowledge, my abilities turned upside down the opposite. I was taught to write for a long time with my right hand, and the brain has changed, ”the girl says with annoyance.
Until the age of six, Luda was silent and hardly recognized the sounds in speech. She was diagnosed with medium -sized mental retardation and was banned from thinking about a regular school. But once a commission came to the orphanage to take the children to school. And they chose Luda, but at the last moment the teacher said that Luda would not go anywhere: “Because there is no control. They will teach more to swear. Who will she become? And in general, he will go into a variety. ”
Lyudmila in the gym photo: Anton Carliner for TDLuda grew up in the orphanage, like all the children there - went to church, went in for sports, rarely, but still went to sea with a teacher or for volleyball competitions and table tennis. And at sixteen, Luda's life changed dramatically.
At the gates of the orphanage, a lightning car stopped. A girl with a short fashionable haircut came out of her, she had cakes and players in her hands, she was looking for an assembly hall. Luda volunteered to spend her, and on the way she thought that she did not want to let a guest let go.
“You're cool,” said Luda.
- Why? - surprised Oksana.
“Well, I don’t know, it seemed to me that.”
- Luda, who do you want to become?
- Maybe a cook. I can cook, read and write a little.
The next four years, Oksana was engaged in Luda, prepared her for admission to the culinary college. She bought notebooks, textbooks and even promised to pay for training. Meanwhile, people were transferred to an adult boarding school, she became a little freer - with a special permission she could leave the closed institution. And twice a week, Luda went to Oksana: the girls taught dictionary words, wrote dictations, read books, and after the lessons they drank tea with desserts. Luda secretly envied her friend a little and thought that it would be nice to become a millionaire, because living with money is much easier than without them.
Once Oksana disappeared. I didn't call for more than a week. I did not come. Luda, in anticipation, approached the window, looked for a salad car. She was afraid that Oksana changed her mind about to deal with her. When they called Luda, she could not believe what she heard for a long time. Oksana had an accident and died.
Luda stopped approaching the window so that there were no bad thoughts. She did not eat or slept. He really does not remember how she ended up in a hairdresser and demanded that she cut her short. Friends of Luda worried from the boarding school, did not want to leave her alone. “There is a place where adults, like us, can study. You wanted? Come with us? " - the girls said.
English teacher Evgenia Ivanova is engaged with Lyudmila photo: Anton Carliner for TDSo, at twenty, Luda ended up in a real school, among the same people who were also not allowed, fenced, forbade them to study. This is a school of the Big Change Foundation, where they are engaged in graduates of orphanages and psychoneurological boarding schools and, in addition to studying, help to cope with everyday life - calculate the budget, cook food, choose clothes, and use equipment.
At 20, Luda was in a real school, among people who were also once forbidden to studyAt first, Lyuda was depressed by the teachers, with difficulty understanding what they were writing on the board. She was afraid that at school they could swear and scream if you did not have time. But for some reason, the teachers were polite, smiled and explained the lesson as many times as she needed. Mathematics was given to Luda is difficult, but tolerant. But the Russian language was a test: how to navigate in spelling, if by ear hard and soft sounds are almost the same? It was unpleasant to read, unless not textbooks on history.
“But I forced myself to read,” Luda proudly declares. “Once they gave me a wonderful book about what awaits a person after death, and I gave myself the word to read two chapters every day, and restrained him.”
Sometimes Luda made lessons at night, so as not to lag behind others in order to become confident. “I wanted to prove to the whole world that I am a normal person. I also wanted to work with children. But how to work if you do not have a certificate? "
Luda draws in a lesson in an art studio photo: Anton Carliner for TDHistory became the favorite subject of Luda, but that was what prevented her from submitting a final report on the reign of Alexander Nevsky. On the day of offset, she opened a report on the computer, re -read, remained unhappy with her work and wiped it.
Luda thought that now she would be expelled, but a history teacher Irina Ladygina, her curator, allowed to submit a report in the next school year. Luda remade the work all summer and almost became a specialist in the biography of Nevsky. But still, she had another goal-to enter the physical education college.
To herself, Luda says that she is an athlete and a hooligan.
- Well, hello! - Opening the school door with a kick, she said loudly. She wanted everyone to know that she had come and she had a great mood. It was just easier to feel that you have so much strength that both the Russian language and Alexander Nevsky will surrender without resistance.
Luda knew that she was able to play sports most and, having gained courage, came to the college selection committee without warning, opened the door and turned to everyone in the office: “Hello! I want to learn from you! What should I do for this? " In bewilderment, the selection committee put Luda out the door.
Lyudmila, Vika, Semyon and Angelina are kneaded before the start of the lesson photo: Anton Carliner for TDShe did not understand why in college they didn’t even ask how she can play volleyball and table tennis, ski, swim underwater, overcome long distances, how strong it is. Luda was as disappointed as when thirty -eight prize medals were stolen in her orphanage - she woke up, and the nightstand was open and empty, and no one around him knew who did it.
Thirty -eight prize medals were stolen in the orphanage of Lyuda - and no one around knew who did itLuda told the curator that they did not talk to her in college. It turned out that for admission it is not necessary to impress examiners - you just need to submit documents and pass exams. The certificate remained before receiving the certificate, and this time was mainly spent in textbooks and training, and the curator helped that she coped with this responsibility and did not give up.
“In our school, students, although independent, are still in reservation - everyone loves them, they are looking after them. And when the guys, having lived most of the time in a closed institution, go to college, for them it is like going into outer space. And Luda went into outer space, ”says the curator Irina Ladygina. “Now she set a goal to master the basic English and learn how to draw at the level of a graduate of an art school.”
But the dream of becoming a millionaires dissolved for reasonable purposes. Unlike a regular school, the teachers not only check the level of knowledge in the “big change”, but also discuss the results and plans with each, so that the student himself can decide at what pace to study, what is the load and why he is an education at all. Now there are about 70 students in a “big change”. Among them are those who received a 9th grade certificate and decided to graduate from 11 classes, take the exam and enter the university. Does this Luda want? She has not decided yet.
After the college, Luda became a teacher of physical education in the Holy Sofia orphanage for children with developmental features. In the lessons, she is moderately strict and demanding. When children aged three to eight years spread in different directions, Luda does not scold them, but takes a whistle and repeats the task. When necessary, holds the child by the hand, praises and supports.
“And yet, Luda, when did you stop opening the door with a kick?”
- Probably, when I received a certificate in a “big change” and became an adult. How can I hooligate if I'm a graduate? You know, if I had not graduated from school, I would be a selfish, I would have expected people to do something for me all the time. But I'm not a selfish.
Lyudmila and Vika walk along the "obstacle strip" photo: Anton Carliner for TDOnce, Luda gave her backpack to a friend, whose bag was leaked. She gave her favorite collection of cards with cars simply because one boy really liked these cards. She is ready to give her jacket so that someone in her becomes warm. And when the “big change” did not have enough money to rent a school building and the students defeated their piggy banks, Luda and her friend Galya sold several of their paintings in favor of the fund. Most likely, if Lyuda once became a millionaires, she would give this money a “big change” in order to support the same people as her people, for whom others once decided that they did not need school education, that the primer and opens will be enough.
Please transfer any amount for the Big Change fund right now! After all, it is so important that orphans also have a school certificate, the opportunity to find a job and not get lost in the world.
