Kommersant: Putin’s election headquarters can be headed by Vaino or Kiriyenko

The election headquarters of Vladimir Putin in the presidential election may be headed by the head of the Kremlin administration Anton Vaino or his first deputy, head of the internal policy department Sergey Kiriyenko. It is reported by "Kommersant" with reference to two sources in the Kremlin.

On Thursday, the ex-head of the Putin administration, Sergei Ivanov, said that, in his opinion, the election headquarters of the current president will be headed by an “official”, and not a well-known person. Ivanov did not specify who he had in mind.

According to the source of "Kommersant", Putin will go to the elections by a self -nominated. The initiative group will have to be put forward (according to the law should consist of at least 500 people), which will include "representatives of various public groups and media," members of political parties and functionaries of the Central Staff of the All -Russian Popular Front.

Putin announced the desire to run for the fourth presidential term on Wednesday at a rally concert in honor of the 85th anniversary of the Gorky Automobile Plant in Nizhny Novgorod. “There is probably no best place and the best reason for announcing this,” the head of state emphasized.

The president’s statement was a response to a replica, with which, approved, one of the factory employees made. He recalled that Putin previously promised to go for the next term if he was supported by the people. “So, today everyone supports you in this hall without exception,” the meeting participant assured you. “Vladimir Vladimirovich, make us a gift, announce your decision - after all, we are for you, gas - for you.”

On Monday, the media reported that Kiriyenko demanded that the regionsexclude reasons for street protests and appeals to the courts following the results of the presidential election. The closed seminar held by the AP for the internal policy of vice-governors and deputies of Putin’s envoy in federal districts, as well as the chairmen of regional election commission, was dedicated to preparations for the elections. As reported, the main goal of the event was to give an installation to hold "absolutely legitimate" elections.

According to new amendments to the law on the presidential election, adopted in early 2017, the vote will be held on the anniversary of the annexation of Crimea - March 18. The main opposition candidate - the head of the Foundation for the fight against corruption of Alexei Navalny - is not allowed to the polls, referring to the presence of conditional criminal records. The desire to take part in the election campaign was also announced by TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak, the leader of the Yabloko party Grigory Yavlinsky, the chairman of the LDPR Vladimir Zhirinovsky and the leader of the Communist Party Gennady Zyuganov.
