1937 Execution of Pavel Florensky

80 years ago, on December 8, 1937, the religious philosopher and scientist, priest Pavel Florensky, was shot. A special troika of the NKVD of the Leningrad Region sentenced him to death on November 25. At that moment, Father Pavel was in the Solovetsky Special Purpose Prison, serving a 10-year sentence following a 1933 sentence on charges of leading a fictitious "National-Fascist Center."

According to one version, Florensky was executed and buried in a common grave on the Levashovskaya wasteland near Leningrad, according to another - in the Lodeynopol camp.
