The European Union probably will not have a single position regarding the US decision on the recognition of Jerusalem by the capital of Israel. While the leading EU players critically met the statement of President Donald Trump on the transfer of the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, Hungary and the Czech Republic do not exclude the possibility of repeating Washington’s gesture.

The recognition of Jerusalem by the capital of Israel is contrary to the norms of international law and UN resolutions, and also interferes with the promotion of the peace process in the Middle East, said Foreign Minister Jean-IV Le Drian on Friday.
