The Sovetsky District Court of Orel recognized the poem "For the Independence of Ukraine" by former school teacher Alexander Byvshev as extremist (Article 282 of the Criminal Code). The poem is included in the Federal List of Extremist Materials. Byvshev told OVD-Info about this.
On October 19, Byvshev was taken on his own recognizance and on proper behavior, and on October 30 he was charged in a criminal case over the publication of "On the Independence of Ukraine." On November 2, the investigation into the case was completed .
This is the third criminal case against Alexander Byvshev. Two others were also started because of the publication of his pro-Ukrainian poems.
UPD. December 11th. As it turned out later, the poem "On the Independence of Ukraine" was recognized as extremist on September 7, 2016. As Alexander Byvshev told OVD-Info, he was not properly notified and learned about the court decision only in November 2017. Now the deadlines for appealing this decision have already passed, Byvshev believes that this could have been done on purpose.
