Thanks to vulnerabilities, outsiders could access any devices connected to the Homekit smart house control system - such as smart lighting, thermostats and sockets. The greatest threat of security, notes 9TO5MAC, represented the possibility of obtaining remote access to Homekit smart locks and automatic garages.

The 9TO5MAC did not lead to the details of the vulnerability in the interests of security, noting that the problem was associated directly with Homekit, and not with any smart devices of third-party developers connected to it.

Apple said they were already aware of the existence of vulnerability and are working on its elimination. As a temporary solution to the issue, the company disabled the possibility of joint Homekit management from several devices. Apple promised to release the IOS version, where the vulnerability will be fully fixed, already next week.
