The case of the former head of Rusnano Leonid Melamed, accused of embezzlement of more than 226 million rubles, was returned to the prosecutor's office. This decision was made by the Cheremushkinsky court of Moscow, the lawyer of Melamed Ruslan Kozhuk told Interfax .
According to the defender, the court made such a decision "on his own initiative <...> in connection with the contradictions." The peel added that the measure of restraint of Melamed has not changed, it still remains under house arrest.
“The court realized that, obviously, there is no other exit, except to pass the acquittal in the case, and for various reasons, excuse for various reasons, and the courts cannot afford such luxury,” said the lawyer of Rusnano Alexander Asnis (quote for RNS).
In the case of embezzlement, the former financial director of Rusnano Svyatoslav Ponurov and the former deputy head of the corporation Andrei Malyshev are also held. Ponurov is under house arrest, Malyshev was arrested in absentia and put on the international wanted list.
On May 11, 2017, Melamed and Ponurov was released from house arrest, and the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation sent their business to an additional investigation into the Investigative Committee. However, on the same day, Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika abolished the decision of his deputy Viktor Grin to return to MELAMED to investigate. On May 22, Melamed and Ponurov was again sent under house arrest.
The case against Melamed was opened in July 2015. According to investigators, Melamed, being the head of Rusnano, signed a contract with Alemar. At the same time, Melamed was a co -owner of this company, and with the help of this contract illegally transferred about 220 million rubles to himself.
