The decision “we are going to the restrictions with restrictions” is difficult, but it will have to be accepted

The vector is understandable - the permission to declare the games individually in the neutral status is obtained from the very top. But this does not mean that the adoption of the final decision, and the process of admission to the starts will be smooth.

The tears are dried up, the head is lowered, the fists are clenched, the tooth rattle is heard clearly. The Olympic discussion will not end with the end of the Olympics, it seems to be never ended in general. Because we are talking not only and not so much about whether to go or not to go, the traitors of future Russian Olympians or heroes, they showed capitulary or the right have the right. The split on the Olympic question is a special case of a more serious fault that is torn by Russian society. It is easiest to say that it is precisely the “statesmen” who does not think of performances in Pyeongchang without the flag and anthem of the country, and “liberals” - for the free manifestation of the will of an individual athlete, but the current overheated situation is not exhausted by the classic separation.

Common sense says that it is necessary to go. And at the heart of a very definite recommendation of the President of the Russian Federation, I am sure that it was pragmatic considerations. As a candidate for future presidents, he could not please the prospect of pulling the next term at the head of the country, which turned into a sports reservation.

Even those who kept repeating “without a anthem and a flag - never for anything!” Extremely picked up a “permissive” trend.

Having crossed the go, they began to convince fellow citizens that it was impossible to deprive the athletes of a dream, and a forced performance under a neutral flag would not indicate a lack of a sense of patriotism.

But it’s not curious that not the behavior of the overlaps, but the fact that not all 86 percent agreed with the supreme message. To declare a boycott to the Olympiad and get out of the IOC is not the coolest measures offered by frantic zealots. And, perhaps, the power from above did not encounter such rejection of the actual indication from above.

The “sincere patriots” were far from as managed as it was imagining. Their current categorical “there is no Olympic humiliation” - it is quite in the spirit of everything that they were fed and stuffed, up to the last post -commander, who completed the formation of the trend. Strength - in force, the enemy - at the gate, give the little finger - you will lose your hand, the weak - they humiliate, strong - they are afraid.

A similar trend does not accept difficulties. The game on simple and often quite low -powered instincts - a weapon of mutual construction. The aggressively obedient majority (the term from political discussions of the early 90s) can turn into aggressively naughty, which there is no need to think about the complexity of other problems. And the story of the exposure of Russian doping and proposed by the International Olympic Committee, albeit not a strategic, but at least tactical way out - things are too complicated to evaluate them with radical directness.

If only because

There is a punishment for Russia, and Russia never wanted to understand what it is punished for. Not because they poorly explained, but because no one inside the country tried to get to the bottom of the truth.

The population did not have to convince the population for a long time that the decision of the IOC to remove the delegation of Russia from the Olympics “in fact, is discriminatory”, unreasonable and humiliating. Last Friday, the same sharp formulations sounded in a statement by the State Duma on the Olympic issue. But none of the “servants of the people”, who was pouring by the righteous anger, did not think either now, which still caused unprecedented strict measures, which caused the “collision” that had poured into the harsh verdict.

For more than two years, it was possible to figure it out. The hearts of the opponents would hardly soften, but they really needed to understand themselves. But before a feature from the snuff box appeared in the arena Grigory Rodchenkov, everyone arranged forbids to the presumptuous West, who was “even worse”, and the possibility of any doping fraud was completely denied. And after the fried smells truly, everyone was satisfied with the statement of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. According to him, a survey of 700 (!) Witnesses did not reveal a single sign of a massive violation of the anti-doping rules during the Sochi Olympiad-except for those that were on the conscience of a single person.

And what decision of the international “punitive authorities” could the Russian side calculate in this case? From a legal point of view, the decision of the IOC executive committee does not look impeccable, but from ethical sports Russia, it has well been deserved to be carved in the most merciless way.

But the main victims were athletes. And guilty, and partially guilty, and even more so not guilty. The latter one way or another will have to not only make a moral choice, but also go through the most difficult admission procedure.

Two special commissions of the IOC, led by Valeri Furnerron and Nicole Huvers, should determine in the shortest possible time which of the Russians is worthy to go to Pyeongchang. One commission will consider applications formed by Russian sports federations and filtering athletes, coaches and staff, the other to deal with the most difficult cases and claims. It is not very clear how to catch the time remaining before the Olympics and fulfill all the requirements of the verdict, and do not arrange another indicative flogging from the process.

Those who were already removed by the efforts of the commission of Denis Oswald in November from the Olympiads for life, it will not be possible to defend. Olympic champions, skier Alexander Legkov and skeletonist Alexander Tretyakov, will definitely not be in Pyeongchang. As well as the prize -winners in skiing, skeleton, skates - Maxim Vylegzhanin, Elena Nikitina, Olga Fatkulina. The sports arbitration court, where appeals are filed on behalf of athletes, is unlikely to go against the IOC.

But the situation with those athletes who are prohibiting in connection with the black label over past sins are most contradictory and worst. The skaters Pavel Kulizhnikov and Denis Yuskov, biathlonists Irina Starykh and Alexander Loginov, the skier Natalya Matveeva have already served punishments that were not associated with the Sochi Switch. That is, they are clean before the law. To prevent them, it means to go against the rules and apply double standards. But while the position of the IOC is unshakable. The head of the organization Thomas Bach specifically noted that there will now be no repetition of a case from the Russian Plovchikha Julia Efimova. Then international sports federations were responsible for the admission of Russian athletes, which could obey the decisions of other courts, and now the IOC is on guard.

If you approach the requirements of the verdict of the IOC Executive Committee of December 5 formally and with all severity, then you can deprive Olympic accreditation not only of officials, but also all the coaches, under whose began at least some time the athletes have now disqualified or already served punishment. Almost the entire headquarters of the Russian hockey team can please the distribution, the possibility of which in the Olympic tournament eliminates obvious problems.

The whole spectrum of questions facing the IOC and the Russian side cannot be cast in one look. The Olympic Assembly will not be able to answer even part of them, but will be able to make a fundamental consolidated decision on participation in games.
