Moscow "Spartak" beat CSKA in the central match of the 20th round of the Russian Football Championship.
The capital derby, which took place on December 10 at the Otkritie Arena stadium, ended with a score of 3:0. Two goals for Spartak were scored by the Dutch striker Quincy Promes in the 10th and 61st minutes of the game, respectively. The third goal in the eighth added minute of the second half was scored by Mario Pasalic.
The match was interrupted twice due to pyrotechnics lit by fans in the stands. In the middle of the second half, due to obstructed visibility, the referee decided to take the teams to the under-tribune premises.
Having defeated CSKA, Spartak scored 37 points and overtook him in the standings, moving to second position. CSKA dropped to fifth place with 35 points. Petersburg "Zenith", occupying the third line with 36 points and having a game in hand, can still overtake "Spartak".
Leadership in the championship before the winter break is held by Lokomotiv Moscow, who scored 42 points after 19 games.
