Experts predict a jump in cars for cars in Russia

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation proposed to the government since 2018 to increase the utilization fee for cars by 87-125% depending on the volume of the engine, Kommersant reports with reference to sources in the car market. According to experts, an increase in the collection against the background of excise tax growth will raise the prices of new cars by 10-17%, the newspaper writes.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that they made a draft resolution on the indexation of utilsbor to the government, depending on the category and types of vehicles, their environmental friendliness, production and imports. According to the ministry, the indexation will be 15-40%in the cargo segment, and the weighted average collection indexation will be 15-17.5%, according to the article.

Earlier, in an explanatory note to the budget it was planned to raise a fee for cars by 15%. This fee is unofficially compensated for domestic concerns, so the measure will hit the clean importers most of all, but foreign concerns who built their factories in the Russian Federation, while the importing part of the models - BMW, Nissan, Renault, Toyota, VW Group, notes.

The utilsbor for the auto industry was introduced in 2012, on the market it was considered compensation for reducing import duties after the entry of the Russian Federation to the WTO. First, importers paid the fee, and the plants of the Russian Federation gave guarantees of disposal, but since 2014, due to the pressure of the countries that complained to the WTO court, it was distributed to the entire market.

The Russian car concerns began to issue industrial subsidies, which are considered compensation for the collection. In 2016, the collection was indexed by 65%, then the government explained this by the devaluation of the ruble.
