“I believe that everyone, most European countries will transfer their embassies to Jerusalem, recognize Jerusalem to the capital of Israel and will actively interact with us for security, prosperity and peace,” Netanyahu said during a joint press conference with the head of European diplomacy Federica Mogherini, which previously condemned the decision of the American administration.

While the leading EU players critically met Trump's statement on the transfer of the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, Hungary and the Czech Republic did not exclude the possibility of repeating Washington's course.

As you know, the status of Jerusalem is one of the key problems of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The Israelis occupied the eastern part of the city during the 1967 war. They insist that Jerusalem is a "single and indivisible" capital of Israel. Palestinians want to make the eastern part of the city the capital of their state.
