The Female exhibition was presented in the “Shift” in February-March 2016, the exhibition “Male”-in the fall of 2017 at the Triennal of Russian Modern Art in the Garage Museum.
“If in the“ female ”Khasanov reflected on the role of a woman during the first post -war decades, then in the upcoming exhibition he concentrated on“ male ”things through which chronologically talks about the events that surrounded him personally, his parents and people of that time,” the organizers of the exhibition reported .
The exposition at the Center for Modern Culture “Smena” will include work on the themes “Sentimental and Militarist Childhood”, “Fishing”, “Railway”, “Unauthorized Flight”, “War” and “Packaging”.
“Khasanov is not only inspired by a historical object, but also calls it for direct service to art, forcing him to participate in the act of artistic expression in its objectivity and even functional depreciation,” says art critic Konstantin Bokhorov. “He turned the art of Radi-maye into a machine to create symbolic meanings and manipulations with historical memory, apparently in order to reactivate eternal myths in new eyelids and generations.”
Ilgizar Khasanov was born in Kazan in 1958, graduated from the artistic and theater department of the Kazan Theater School (1982), has been actively exhibited since 1986, since 2000-a member of the Franz Kafka (Prague) society, awarded his diploma and gold medal, in 2013 became one of the founders of the Modern Culture Center “Shift”.
The works of Ilgizar Khasanov are in the museums of Kazan, in private and corporate meetings in Russia and abroad.
