1 person died and at least 18 were injured in an explosion at a gas distribution station in Baumgarten. 18 fire brigades are trying to cope with the fire, aviation is involved to help the victims. This is reported by the Heute portal . An underground pipeline exploded.
About 40 billion m³ of natural gas is distributed annually through the Baumgarten station to Austria and to Western, Southern and Southeastern Europe. It is the largest gas distribution center in Austria.
Gazprom Export reported that they are working on the redistribution of gas flows and are doing everything possible to ensure uninterrupted gas supplies to their customers in this transport direction, Interfax reports .
