"This is the best gift to Putin over many years"
On December 11, the Pechersk court of Kyiv refused to apply a preventive measure in relation to Mikhail Saakashvili - house arrest. The Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuri Lutsenko said that the prosecutor’s office will appeal to the court decision.
The Ukrainian authorities suspect Saakashvili of "assistance to participants in criminal organizations and concealing their criminal activities." Prosecutor General Lutsenko said that the politician allegedly received half a million dollars from the Ukrainian businessman Sergei Kurchenko hiding in Russia to finance his activities. Kurchenko states that he is not familiar with Saakashvili. The disgraced politician himself rejects all the accusations against him.
