
Rostelecom allocated 260.4 million rubles for the development of the state search engine "Sputnik" and the same browser of the same name. Materials of the corresponding tender are published on the public procurement website.
The only contractor of the contract is indicated by LLC "Search Portal" Sputnik. It is said that it is necessary to expand the use of the browser in the state and corporate segments of the market and increase the stability of work. President of Rostelecom Mikhail Oseevsky said then that the state -owned company did not plan to close the "satellite". “This project will undoubtedly be continued. In any case, we will optimize our expenses,” Oseevsky said. “I don’t know if the task was to compose full competition for Yandex or Google, but nevertheless, the country has such an instrument. We are now thinking about what additional applications can be.”
