Jan Katelevsky came to one of the open sessions of the district court, which considered the case of exceeding due authority by a bailiff.

Before the start of the meeting, Katelevsky put a microphone on the table to record the process. Seeing this, the judge announced the ban on audio recording in the hall. Katelevsky began to argue with the judge and asked to bring the relevant norms of the law. In response, the judge called the bailiffs and the prosecutor.

Now Yan Katelevsky and his wife are in the courthouse, they are being penalized for failure to comply with the judge's order (Article 17.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

At the same time, paragraph 7 of Article 10 of the Code of Civil Procedure allows, without permission, to make a written and audio recording in an open civil process: “Persons participating in a case and citizens present in an open court session have the right to record the progress of the trial. Filming and photography, video recording, broadcasting of the court session on radio, television and in the information and telecommunication network "Internet" are allowed with the permission of the court.
