For several days, “sources close to the administration” tried to create a feeling of painful uncertainty: they argued that there was no decision yet whether Putin would become a candidate from United Russia. They conducted discussions, weighed versions. The party version would save him from the need to collect signatures, of course. But on the other hand, everyone understands that Putin will collect any number of signatures of Russians. Putin can collect DNA samples, fingerprints and, if necessary, fingers themselves. Now it is known for sure - Putin will become a self -nominee. That is, he needs 500 citizens from different regions, ready to support his idea to go to the president. True, it will be necessary to sacrifice the presidential ambitions of Sergei Mironov, the leader of the fair Russians. And even a turnout - all three voters of Sergei Mironov will lose an incentive for going to polling stations.

In fact, of course, deputies from the Communist Party and the LDPR would also like to nominate Putin, but they cannot - they have their own leaders, and the leaders have unpleasant work: to go compete with the knowing winner.
