VAC will present a joint exhibition with Whitechapel Gallery in Venice

The VAC Foundation announced the main events of its 2018 program. One of them will be the joint exhibition of the VAC and London Gallery of Whitchepel “Researchers, Parts One and the Second” in the Palazzo on Dzatter, the residence of the Fund in Venice.

The exhibition will present expanded versions of four expositions formed from the work of the VAC Foundation and originally shown in the Whitchepel gallery within twelve months in 2014-2015. The curator of both of its parts will be Yvon Blazvik, director of the Whitechepel gallery.

The participants of the first part of the exhibition (May-September) will be the sculptor Mike Nelson and the artist Fiona Banner, the second (October 2018-March 2019)-painter Linett Jiad-Buachi and video artist James Richards.

The exhibition will be held on the permanent site of the VAC Foundation in Venice, the Palazzo on Dzatter. In May, the London Assemble team will begin the reconstruction of the garden and the Palazzo restaurant, which received the Turner Prize in 2015.

From April to September, the Moscow Museum of Contemporary Art (MMOMA) will be an exhibition “General Rehearsal”, which will combine work from three collections: VAC , Kadist (Paris, San Francisco) and Momom. Among the participants of the exhibition are Marian Castillo Debal, Phil Collins, Floyer, Kyara Fumai, Ryan Gender, Lucy Mackenzi, Vail Shavka, Mikhail Tolmachev, Vladislav Mamyshev-Monro, Yan Monzi and Arseny Zhilyaev.

In September, VAC and the Whitchepel Gallery will present the third season of the VAC Live International Performant Program, in December the joint program with the Museum of Modern Art of Antwerp ( M HKA ) “Present Continous” , the work of which will be acquired in the M HKA collection.

In addition, in 2018, VAC will continue its publishing program. The books “Artificial Hell” by Claire Bishop, “Art and Culture” by Clement Greenberg, “The tradition of the new” Garold Rosenberg, “Art and Object”, “Artal and Culture” by Michael Frida, “Art and Objective” by Boris Arvatov and the “Modern Cult of Monuments” by Aloisa Riga are planned.
