“The main topic was the discussion of North Korea, because we would really like to get it (Putin. - Ed.) Help. China helps, but Russia not. We would like to have assistance from Russia,” Trump said.
The telephone conversation of the presidents of Russia and the USA took place the day before late in the evening. "President Trump thanked President Putin for recognizing the strong economic indicators of America at his annual press conference. Two presidents also discussed joint work to resolve a very dangerous situation in North Korea," the White House website said .
"Topical issues of bilateral relations were discussed, as well as the situation in crisis points with an emphasis on resolving the nuclear problem of the Korean peninsula. The previous telephone conversation of Trump and Putin took place on November 21 , after the visit of the Syrian dictator Bashar al -Assad to Moscow.
